News and Noteworthy Moments From Grey Haven Acres
At Grey Haven Acres, every foaling season, show appearance, and milestone is a chapter in our evolving story. This page is where we share those chapters — both the triumphs and the quiet, behind-the-scenes progress that defines who we are as a ranch.
From the birth of promising colts to ribbon-winning performances in Arizona's top show circuits, this is a place to celebrate our horses, our handlers, and our unforgettable moments along the way.
Top Highlights From the Ranch
Poe GHA and Quill GHA Earn Oldenburg Branding
On September 21, 2014, two of our young colts — Poe GHA and Quill GHA — were proudly branded as Oldenburg colts by the Oldenburg Registry North America. This recognition marks an important achievement in our breeding program and showcases the strength of their pedigrees.
- Poe GHA is a chestnut colt born on March 24, 2014, out of Tipsey in Seattle, sired by Parcival.
- Quill GHA is a bay colt born on May 10, 2014, out of Blanco Slew (Firefly), sired by Qredit.
Both were evaluated at Keurig and made us proud with their confirmation, movement, and demeanor.
Show Season Success — Copper State “A” Jumping Show
In June 2014, Zoolander and Cooper, two of our standout horses, competed at the Copper State “A” Jumping Show in Flagstaff, AZ.
- Zoolander was shown by Kelsey Johnson, showcasing confidence and agility in multiple classes.
- Cooper, leased and shown by Alyssa Frainier, made an excellent showing in both ground and hunter/jumper events.
These competitions not only reflect the quality of our breeding but also the heart and effort our horses bring into the ring.
