Horse Boarding at Grey Haven Acres

  • Do You Offer Horse Boarding?

Yes, we do. At Grey Haven Acres, we offer both stall boarding with turnout and pasture boarding, depending on availability and your horse’s needs. All boarding options include access to our facilities, which include:

    • A well-ventilated 8-stall barn with turnout areas
    • Two large grass pastures and two additional large turnout pastures
    • A large riding and jumping arena, plus a round pen
    • Access to hills, trails, and natural terrain for light hacking or conditioning
    • Monitoring and support from our on-site veterinarian, if needed

Because space is limited and care is personalized, we recommend that you email us in advance to check current availability.

  • What’s Included in the Boarding Contract?

When boarding at Grey Haven Acres, all horse owners must sign a boarding agreement and liability waiver. These documents outline:

    • Barn hours and rider access policies
    • Care expectations (feeding, turnout schedules, vet or farrier involvement)
    • Safety guidelines, including helmet use, visitor policies, and barn rules

We’re committed to providing a safe and positive environment for both horses and humans. The contract helps ensure clear communication and respectful boundaries for all boarders.

  • Can I Visit or Ride My Horse Anytime?

While we encourage horse owners to be actively involved with their horses, we do have designated barn hours to protect the privacy and routine of the property. These hours are outlined in the boarding contract and allow for a balance between flexibility and structure.

We ask that boarders respect the schedule and communicate in advance if a special visit or early/late ride is needed. We’re always willing to accommodate when possible—communication is key.

Leasing, Lessons, and Riding

  • Do You Offer Horse Leasing?

Yes, we have select horses available for on-site lease, depending on the horse’s training level, temperament, and your riding goals. Leases are subject to review and may require a rider evaluation prior to approval.

Leased horses must be ridden under the same rules and guidelines as boarded horses, and all riders must sign a rider liability waiver. If you're interested in leasing, please contact us directly to discuss available horses and arrangements.

  • Can I Bring My Trainer?

In most cases, we allow outside trainers by request. However, they must provide proof of insurance and sign an agreement prior to working on the property. Our priority is always the well-being of the horses and maintaining a safe, respectful environment for all boarders.

If you're working with a trainer and would like to bring them to Grey Haven Acres, just let us know in advance and we’ll go over the necessary steps.

Medical Boarding and Special Cases

  • Do You Offer Medical Boarding?

Yes, Grey Haven Acres is uniquely equipped to offer medical boarding, thanks to our on-site veterinarian, Dr. Misa Dickinson of Los Caballos Vet Service.

    We can accommodate:

    • Horses recovering from surgery or illness
    • Mares who need monitoring during late-term pregnancy
    • Foaling support and post-natal care
    • Mares being bred via AI or frozen semen

Medical boarding requires pre-approval and a consultation with Dr. Dickinson to determine the horse’s needs and level of monitoring required.

  • What if My Horse Needs Emergency Care?

Having a veterinarian on-site means that emergency support is never far away. While we always recommend that owners stay up to date with vaccinations and wellness checks, unforeseen events do happen—and we’re ready to respond when they do.

Boarders must provide emergency contact info and a signed treatment authorization form so we can act quickly and responsibly if a medical situation arises.
