Photo Gallery—Life at Grey Haven Acres in Prescott, AZ
There’s a quiet kind of beauty to life at Grey Haven Acres—the early morning mist on the pastures, the stillness of a winter barn, the motion of horses at play, and the joyful moments between horse and human.
This gallery captures those moments—snapshots of our 40-acre ranch, our horses, our riders, and the rhythms of care and connection that shape every season. It’s a place where stories live in the landscape, and horses are more than residents—they’re family.
First Impressions—Arriving at Grey Haven Acres
A Welcoming Gate and Wide Open Skies
As you turn off Williamson Valley Road, the entrance to Grey Haven Acres opens like a postcard: peaceful, inviting, and surrounded by the natural beauty of Prescott, Arizona. Our signature GHA gate greets you with rustic charm and understated elegance—a fitting welcome to the land beyond.
Through the Seasons—Winter and Rainfall
The ranch is a canvas of changing skies and shifting seasons.
- Grey Haven in Winter shows our quiet, snow-dusted grounds—serene, still, and striking in their simplicity.
- After the monsoon season, GHA Summer Rains brings vibrant green back to the earth, restoring the grass pastures and lifting the spirit.
The Heart of the Ranch—Our Barn and Facilities
Barn Life and Daily Routine
Our 8-stall barn is the core of the ranch—warm, secure, and equipped to handle the varied needs of boarding horses, mares in foal, and horses requiring medical oversight.
- Outside of Barn: Surrounded by individual turnouts, our barn blends structure with space.
- Inside the Barn: You’ll find clean stalls, well-lit corridors, and camera monitoring systems that allow for 24/7 oversight—a key feature for foaling mares and medical boarders.
Turnout and Pasture Space
- Grazing Horse on Grass Pasture: Our pastures are rotated and maintained year-round. We offer:
- Two one-acre grass pastures
- One one-acre turnout pasture
- One
two-acre turnout pasture
These provide ample space for movement, grazing, and natural behavior in a low-stress environment.
Training, Riding, and Connection
Arena Work With Riders and Trainers
- Arena Riding With Dr. Dickinson and Vixxen: Captured in motion, Dr. Misa Dickinson of Los Caballos Vet Service works with Vixxen, a striking horse from Sovereign Farms, in our well-maintained riding arena.
Whether training, rehabilitating, or bonding, the arena is a place of trust-building between horse and handler.
A Place for Family, Learning, and Joy
Pony Rides and Kid-Friendly Fun
It’s not all about competition and care routines—sometimes, it’s about smiles, silliness, and small special moments that spark lifelong memories.
- Katie and Samwise: “Pony rides are always fun,” says Katie as she beams atop Samwise, one of our gentlest ponies.
- Logan and Samwise: Under the watchful eye of Dr. Misa Dickinson, Logan practices balance exercises on Samwise, showing that even early learners can develop confidence and coordination in the saddle.
